Hello.

I'm Steph – a designer, calligrapher and artist with a passion for creating bespoke, handcrafted pieces of art.

I’ve always been in the creative industries. My journey began with a degree in graphic design, which led to a busy and exciting 30-year career in London's vibrant creative industry, much of that as a co-founder of the strategy and design company I still run with my husband.

Working from our studio in Norfolk, I now divide my time between designing solutions to big digital business challenges and being an artist and calligrapher. I love being able to work in these two very different worlds.

There has always been something deeply satisfying about creating one-of-a-kind pieces of handcrafted art. I love the process and end-results of painting with ink and the simple beauty of what can be created with a nib and hand-drawn lettering. Much of my commissioned work is created by bringing these two together into single compositions.

There’s a real satisfaction in creating something by hand that has real meaning for the person receiving it. My floral-inspired illustrations and modern calligraphy combinations allow me to create something unique and special each time and it’s always a joy to hear how my work has brought a smile, or a tear, to the face of the recipient.

Today, so much is mass produced that I believe there's something magical about sending and receiving a handmade card – or enjoying a one-off painting that will never be seen anywhere else. Every brushstroke and letter is unique.
